Measuring SEO Success
At Zeon, we don’t gauge our success on the quantity of traffic driven to your site. We believe in quality over quantity, and place a strong emphasis on conversions, sales, and engagement. While we love getting emails about how we “increased traffic X%!” it doesn’t really get us going like a call saying “conversions are up Y% month over month!” When all is said and done, driving thousands of visitors to your site per day doesn’t mean a thing if they don’t follow your call to action.
What We Measure
The question is
what don’t we measure? Every metric has a meaning – it’s how you interpret it that makes the biggest impact. Some of the ways we measure success include:
- Visit level metrics like number of non-branded organic keywords driving traffic, number of pages receiving organic traffic, and change in ranking of primary and secondary keywords
- Qualitative metrics such as bounce rate, time on site, and visitor engagement
- Conversion metrics including sales, revenue, average order value, and conversion rate
- Crawl statistics including the number of pages crawled vs. number of pages indexed, crawl rate, and number of crawl errors
